It’s well suited for secondary and /or advanced treatment in municipal and industrial applications.  Rotating biological contactors (RBC), also called rotating biological filters, are fixed-bed reactors consisting of stacks of rotating disks mounted on a horizontal shaft. RBCs are used in the treatment of wastewater as a secondary treatment process.
